Hello dear student!
Glad you found it here. Here at the Department of Educational Sciences (Utsek), we represent you who study to be a teacher, but also you who study a bachelor's program in pedagogics, sports coaching, dietary economics with a focus on leadership or health promotion. In addition, we represent you who are studying a master's program in didactics or pedagogics as well as you who are a doctoral student at one of the Faculty of Education's four departments.
What does Utsek do? Below you can read about all the responsibilities we have, and how to get involved.
Education monitoring
Our most important task is to ensure that all educations at the Faculty of Education meet the standard. We do this, among other things, by appointing student representatives at all meetings that affect students to some degree. Only Utsek has the mandate to appoint student representatives at our faculty. Are you interested in applying for one of our vacancies? Scroll down the page to find the application form!
We can also help you with different student matters. If you or your friend feels mistreated by a teacher, feels unfairly assessed during an exam or if you just need help with a question concerning your studies, do not hesitate to email chairperson Felix Larsvik or the board member Marcos Monge Lopez. Contact information can be found further down the page.
Study environment
Just as important as being treated properly on an exam is having a good work environment when studying. Utsek works tirelessly with the students' work environment, among other things by participating in work environment committees at the faculty, and by coordinating the work at the entire university together with other student unions. Do you want to learn more about how we work? Contact chairperson Felix Larsvik, or one of our board members Ola Thunander or Carl Hedin. Contact information can be found below.
Study social activities
When the studies are finished, it is important to have a social context. The possibilities for this are endless at Utsek. You can, for example, contact one of our associations or committees, which you can read more about further down the page. You can also start a new association or a new committee, if what you are looking for does not exist. If you want to do this, contact section chair Felix Larsvik or one of the board members Robin Landin, Janine Bos or Melissa Nordkvist (contact information below).
Labour market
Finally, there should be somewhere to go once you graduate. At Utsek, we arrange a number of labour market-related events, so that you can gain knowledge of what to expect after graduation. For more information - contact board member Annika Gren, whose email address you will find further down.
As you can see, the possibilities are endless. What are you waiting for? Get involved today!
Office hours
Until further notice the office is closed for visitors due to the pandemic.
