The Programme Council works to monitor and develop the degree programme to ensure that it maintains a high level of quality and provides students with the knowledge and skills required for graduation. As a student representative, you participate in discussions about the programme’s content, structure and development and contribute the students’ perspective. For example, you may discuss how different courses connect and build upon each other, whether there are parts of the programme that need to be developed or changed, and how the education works from the students’ perspective. The Programme Council also reviews course and programme syllabus and follows up on the quality of the programme.

An important part of your role is therefore to represent students’ experiences, opinions and suggestions for improvement. You have the opportunity to influence the development of the programme and contribute to making the education work as well as possible for both current and future students.

As a student representative, you represent the students’ interests on the council. To support you in your role, you have access to Göta Student Union’s Policy Document, the University of Gothenburg’s governing documents, as well as support from the chairperson of the Educational Sciences Section and other student representatives.
