The Science and Technology Section represents all students at the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Gothenburg. Our primary mission is to safeguard the interests of students in three central areas: education monitoring, work environment and student social issues.

This means that we actively work to ensure that the quality of education is high, that the study environments are safe and inclusive, and that there is room for community and engagement outside the lecture halls. In practice, we appoint student representatives to various bodies at faculty and department level, where important decisions are made about, for example, course content, examination, resource allocation and work environment.

According to the Higher Education Act, students have a statutory right to participate in decisions and preparations concerning their education. We therefore ensure that students' voices are heard and that their perspectives are taken seriously. Through our work, we create a link between students and the university's management, so that the education not only meets academic requirements - but also the needs and expectations of our members.

We've got your back

We receive problems and suggestions for improvement from you as a student and pursue them with the university. Whether it's about an exam being marked unfairly, a course that is poorly organized, or if you want to make a good course better, we will help you from start to finish!

Associations

To help us, we have section associations that work at the different departments and connect students from the same programs and departments. We also have "sexmästerier" that organize parties for all the students of the faculty, and sometimes even the entire university. Are you curious about which associations we have? Have fun at NaTsek!

It may sound serious, education monitoring. It is. But we do more than that! We and our associations organize events and other student social activities to enrich your study time alongside your studies. Keep an eye on Orbi and follow us and our associations on social media for new events!

SNaK - Swedish Natural Sciences Association

SNaK is a collaborative body and is an association of unions representing science students. The collaboration within SNaK primarily deals with educational issues, but labor market issues that concern science students are also discussed.

SNaK consists of the Göta Student Union, Lund's Natural Sciences Union, Ultuna Student Union and Uppsala Technology and Natural Sciences Union.

Find us!

You will find our new office in Natrium, Medicinaregatan 7B. We are on site during office hours but may be away for meetings sometimes. However, it is perfectly fine to send an email if we are not on site, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

The associations are your path to a richer student life!

At the Science and Technology Section, we have a long tradition of both educational monitoring and "party" associations. We are also looking for new committed students who want to breathe life into some of the section associations that are currently dormant.
